By using its anti-inflammatory advantage, Vitamin C has been found to enhance the immune
system’s protective mechanism to accelerate healing processes, while, at the same time,
reducing the level of pain felt (inflammatory response).
Vitamin C, given in high doses (1,000 mg to 2,000 mg, divided into 500 mg doses throughout
the day) for three days prior to, and three days following implant surgery, allows the body
to rally its defenses with no side effects (however, it is not advisable to take 2,000 mg of
vitamin C at one time).
